Connected. Compassionate. Supportive.

Shadawn McCants, LPC

Shadawn McCants is a Licensed Professional Counselor who began her clinical work in 2013 after completing her graduate work at Prairie View A & M University. With experience in private practice, inpatient hospitals, trauma settings, juvenile and rehabilitation facilities, community counseling, as well as offering workshops for emotional balance, she has a solid foundation for mental health treatment and support.

She works primarily with teens and adults who are having a hard time in some way, either within themselves or within relationships. Using her talent of connecting with people, her training as a cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist, her gift of gab, and her willingness to be creative when visualizing how to help her clients get unstuck. Shadawn gives her clients a fresh perspective and provides a nonjudgmental and supportive environment in which to explore and discuss options and to think about different ways of approaching problem areas. I help clients in the therapeutic process by questioning, guiding, responding, and utilizing my expertise to guide them towards change, knowing that through the process of psychotherapy, the client will get what they need to make their lives and relationships better.
